It is sad that the Chief Justice of India is demitting office with a laundry list of unwashed and badly washed linen trailing him (The Chequered legacy of a Chief Justice of India, Op-Ed, the Hindu dt. 23 April2021).
With a great opportunity before him to firmly plant the flag of judicial independence for all the world to see, and render succour to the struggling masses in these troubled times, Mr.S.A.Bobde chose to tread the path of least resistance and go the way of his unsung predecessor; like him, perhaps a reward awaits him.
