Tribute to my father

TRIBUTE

he was a simple, unassuming man

a man of few words but of ready wit

spartan in his life style and a stoic to boot

a man who barely finished school

but was nevertheless well read

always doing the little and big things

that needed doing around the house and outside

a man who knew his Saviour

a man who served his country

by no means perfect but

full of sterling human qualities

one who taught himself music

(yet couldn’t carry a note!)

a great grand son of the

Venerable Vednayagam Sastriar of Tanjore

I am talking about my father, who would be One hundred and eight today

the 24th of September 2024

(this blog-site was launched 16 years ago to the day)

Remembering with fondness and respect

VINCENT VEDANAYAGAM

P.S. Were he alive, my mother and he would also celebrate their 77th Wedding Anniversary this very day

My parents in their heydays
