Where is the lamb?

This is one of the most poignant stories in the Bible. With the wood laden on his shoulder and seeing the fire and the knife in his father Abraham’s hand, the young lad Isaac asks a pertinent question. In the heart of Abraham, there is pandemonium: faith in God, love for his son, obedience to divine command, the issue of explaining matters to Sarah, all of these tumbling over one another in a mighty vortex.

And Abraham clings to God for wisdom as he replies with unbridled lachrymosity, “My son, God will provide”
