Should I weep in the fifth month?

It is a matter of shame that we tie ourselves hand and foot to so many rules and regulations relating to religious observances. God makes it abundantly clear elsewhere that He cares two hoots for our pious ceremonies. If we really want to please Him, the formula is clear: “Give up your evil ways. Learn to do good. Seek justice. Help the oppressed.  Defend the cause of orphans. Fight for the rights of widows”

Instead are we turning back again to the “weak and beggarly elements of observing days, months, times, and years?”

There is glorious liberty in Christ!
