Not you, but God!
Joseph puts the most charitable construction possible on the despicable act of his brothers some 13 years earlier. Sold into slavery when he was but a teen, Joseph was moved about involuntarily like a coin in the game of Snakes and Ladders; reported dead by his brothers, steward in Potiphar’s house, unjustly accused of sexual misconduct by Photiphar’s wife, incarcerated in Egyptian gaol – Joseph’s life was controlled by others before he became second in command to Pharaoh.
And when his brothers begged him for mercy in a staggering turn of fortunes, Joseph was gracious beyond belief.
Show some magnanimity!
