Surprised by faith!
Since Jesus is omniscient, generally we assume that He struts through life with a supercilious, all knowing attitude and is incapable of being affected by the vagaries of everyday life. Nothing could be farther from the truth as this passage illustrates. Man as an intelligent being, a rational being, a sensible being, a sensitive being and a cogitative being, possesses God-given independent cognition; and surprising as it may seem, God takes great delight in engaging with these human faculties.
So we are entirely capable of grieving or gladdening the heart of God. He has given us a mind that makes a choice, that decides on a course of action.
What does Jesus see in us?
