Jephthah, that’s a tad cheeky!
It is a pity that school report cards show that many young people follow Rudolf the red nosed reindeer and sadly ‘go down in History‘! Knowledge of history is important, for what we were yesterday has much bearing on what we are today. Jephthah knew this very well and he did a superb job of articulating his position to the Ammonite king with irrefutable facts of his nation’s history. And he ended his argument tongue in cheek!
There is a reason the Bible has been placed in our hands; to read and understand the mighty deeds of our God. And the futility of idol worship.
Yes, He is the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob!
