Even as you hit the fast lane of life with furious strides that brook no brakes, won’t you pause a moment to grab a grain of scriptural truth embedded herein ? (click on hypertext in the Day’s Reading for reference verse)

No obligations! You are of course perfectly at liberty to skip these Readings altogether. Should that be your choice,  go ahead – save 30 seconds!

Volunteer, anybody?

There is no dearth of jobs with God. He is always looking for men (and women) to proclaim His Word and be His agents on earth. And He always discloses His plan of action for the world to His servants. Amos 3:7 puts it like this “Surely the Lord GOD will do nothing, but he revealeth his secret unto his servants the prophets” (KJV). While He often recruits prophets directly, He is also looking for volunteers. This is one such intsance.

Not everyone responds  readily and positively. For instance, Moses was selected but he demurred no end. But here we find Isaiah putting up his hand instantly. He was prepared; his lips had been cleansed with a coal of fire.

Are you ready to serve the Lord?
