Quite often we turn our eyes to look at the newspaper, television, computer or the mobile, and in times of trouble, pray to some man-made pictures or idols. And do not spend enough time contemplating the invisible creator God – His awesome majesty, His surpassing sovereignty, His limitless love, unbounded grace and patient long-suffering. David was unambiguous in this respect. He said:” I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the LORD, which made heaven and earth”.
Prophet Isaiah speaks of much the same thing. It is useful to ask ourselves every now and then as to where we place our trust and to whom we appeal.
“Turn your eyes upon Jesus”
