Even as you hit the fast lane of life with furious strides that brook no brakes, won’t you pause a moment to grab a grain of scriptural truth embedded herein ? (click on hypertext in the Day’s Reading for reference verse)

No obligations! You are of course perfectly at liberty to skip these Readings altogether. Should that be your choice, go ahead – save 30 seconds!

God bless!

Forget the past!

This is a most difficult task for some people. They simply love reliving their past. Wallowing in their yesterdays and days before yesterday they recall their sinful life chapter and verse. They moan about their failures and flagellate themselves. Paul is very clear that this is no way to move forward in life. You must let bygones be bygones and press forward towards the goal to win the prize of your calling..

Also, when you are ahead in the race you must resist the temptation to turn around and see how much ahead; you might lose precious seconds in the process!

You cannot at once both walk down memory lane and press forward!

  1. Don’t you think that looking back on our mistakes and correcting them and being grateful for the blessings that brought us this far will be an added thrust in our race forward????

  2. Absolutely. The point is we should not be mired in the past. Certainly there are Bible verses that exhort us to consider our past. When do we do what is a question of balance. Thank you Sarasu.
