The wormwood and the gall

From time to time, we tend to launch into weeping bouts like the prophet Jeremiah, crying: “I am the man who has seen affliction by the rod of the Lord’s wrath”. We find comfort in the book of Lamentations; the verses therein seem to mirror our experience.  (NKJV, KJV). But let us not stay there. If only we care to travel with the prophet a little further, we will be able to strike a triumphant note: ” great is Your faithfulness”.

Yes,”Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for His compassions never fail. They are new every morning”

” It is good to wait quietly for the salvation of the Lord”.
