A devil inside the church!
Even a church like the one in Thyatira commended for its deeds, love and faith, service and perseverance, and for doing more than at first, has a problem, a rather serious one at that. In the words of “Him who holds the seven stars in His right hand and walks among the seven golden lamp-stands”, the church tolerates Jezebel, who calls herself a prophet . The issue with such self appointed prophets – and we have plenty in our time – is that their doctrine is suspect.
Jezebel of course stands out for her immorality but in the case of others, the wrong teaching could be subtle, insidious. And before you could say, “what, ho?” you might be inveigled.
