The selfishness of a saint!
The great thing about the Bible is that it doesn’t hide the shortcomings of the stalwarts of faith. It presents them warts and all. Here in this story, Abram asks his wife to pretend that she is his sister for he fears for his life, upon entering Egypt. What is this, if it is not lack of faith in God? What is this, if it is not taking matters into his own control? What is this, if it is not a cynical willingness to sacrifice Sarai’s honour at the altar of his own safety?
Yes, let’s accept it; Abram erred. And it is only by the grace of God that Sarai escaped being sexually assaulted by the Pharaoh who was all set to take her as wife.
The disingenuous art of prevarication!!
