The tyranny of the majority
Every situation can be viewed in at least two ways – one, with natural eyes and the other, with eyes of faith. Physically everybody sees the same thing but spiritually the perception can be very different. Some people reckon only on human strength and human possibilities but others practise the audacity of faith. In any given population, the latter are usually in a minority; but God is often found to be on the side of the few, the lean, the weak, the powerless and the disregarded – as long as they lean on Him and do not put their hope in the “arm of flesh”
Especially in a case like this when the sole and the whole purpose of the journey is to take them to the Promised Land, it is strange that the Israelites are swayed by the voices of skepticism.
Exercise your faith. God is in the equation!
