Flattering like Tertullus!

 

I don’t suppose they teach you this in law school; but if you want the governor’s ear, it does help to start with something nice about him. This requires special talent and Tertullus apparently had plenty of it. Appearing on the side of of the high priest, he proceeded to flatter Felix to the gills .

Paul could play this game equally well but here we see him moving quickly to a truthful account of his activities after initial obeisance.

“Simply let your ‘yes’ be ‘yes'”!
