Even as you hit the fast lane of life with furious strides that brook no brakes, won’t you pause a moment to grab a grain of scriptural truth embedded herein ? (click on hypertext in the Day’s Reading for reference verse)

No obligations! You are of course perfectly at liberty to skip these Readings altogether. Should that be your choice,  go ahead – save 30 seconds!

Preachathon interrupted!

Different churches have different practices, but generally speaking in the Anglican tradition people get fidgety if the sermon goes longer than 10 minutes. The evangelistic congregations usually have a longer threshold but even they cannot hold a candle to the believers in Troas.

Paul simply went on all night! Surely quite a few in the gathering succumbed to Hypnos but poor Eutychus suffered a worse fate. But you can’t keep a good man down; Paul raised him up as a matter of course and went on with his discourse till the break of dawn!

How eager are you to hear the word of God?
