Choir in the vanguard?
This is ridiculous. In a church procession down city streets on Palm Sunday, it is quite appropriate but in an army marching to engage enemy forces in battle? Has Jehoshaphat gone bonkers? But, it appears to be very much a democratic decision.
Those members of the choir who fearfully reported sick that day missed being witness to a glorious act of deliverance from God. For as the choir started singing praises to God, the Ammonites, Mobites and the men from Mount Seir engaged in internecine warfare and perished en masse.
Sing Hallelujah!
