Righteous Overmuch

Could too much of a good thing be bad? Yes, says the Preacher; he ought to know, for he had an excess of everything. There is a Tamil proverb which agrees with this view . Yes, people can be so heavenly minded that they are no good for life on earth. They make a fetish of their righteousness so much that it doesn’t take long to turn into pride.

Look at Rodha: a simple, unpretentious servant girl. She too participated in the prayer for Peter’s release but when the pleadings reached fever pitch, she decided she’d had enough. With an ear to the ground, she moved on; she was looking for the answer. No surprise, she was the first to get it!

Maintain your balance!
