Philosophy in the time of homicide!

The games people play! After instructing Joab to practically arrange the murder of Uriah the Hittite, David waxes philosophical when the death tidings arrive. When the messenger returns to Joab with David’s note of encouragement, Joab no doubt laughed up his sleeve. His uncle’s diabolic duplicity was all too plain for him. Of course nothing was hidden from the eyes of God as David went on adding one sin to another in a miserable effort to mask his debauchery.

The devil is pretty good at supplying us arguments, rationalizations and entirely credible philosophical pronouncements to justify our devious behaviour.

“Thou desirest truth in the inward parts”
