You are hurting yourself, Saul
Saul thought he knew it all. He was a man of the book, and a polyglot to boot! Well versed in all the liberal philosophies of the day, having been tutored by none other than the great scholar Gamaliel. He was also convinced that The (Jesus) Way was bunkum; one that needed to be put down swiftly lest it become a big nuisance to the Jewish order of the day. Notwithstanding the fact that his own guru opined that God might have something to do with the apostolic movement, Saul embarked on a path of both passive and active persecution of the followers of Jesus Christ.
Full of intellectual arrogance and bolstered with authority, he set out for Damascus. But God in Christ reached out to him. In one flash of heavenly brilliance Saul was grounded and the sum total of his knowledge came crashing down as Jesus gently pointed out that
” It is hard for thee to kick against the pricks“!
In One flash heavenly brilliance Saul was grounded, beautifully presented. Thanks.
Thanks, Jose.
