Attaboy Ahaz!
In a milieu that constantly looks for signs and wonders, King Ahaz’s refusal to put God to such a test comes as a whiff of fresh air! Though troubled by the news that King Rezin of Syria and Pekah the king of Israel have formed an unholy alliance to overrun Judah, He was willing to take God at His word that came through prophet Isaiah and his son Shear-ja-shub that the “invasion will never happen”.
Can we hold onto our principles and values when the dice are loaded against us? Can we display courage in a patently hopeless situation?
“If God be for us, who can be against us?”
