God is not implacable!
I have come across men (and women) who when they are displeased over something, work themselves into a frenzied delirium and can nurse that feeling for years.It is well nigh impossible to talk reason with them. Thank heavens God is not like that! Though God was wroth with Israel because of their disbelief and disobedience and had a mind to destroy them, here we see Him listening to the appeals of Moses and showing restraint.
It may appear just once in the Bible but implacability is described in the book of Romans as a product of a depraved mind and is bracketed together with covenant breaking, among other sins.
