Why go to church?

Different people have different reasons. The really small children have no choice in the matter; their parents take them. The slightly older ones may actually enjoy Sunday School which takes them off from a worship service. But our focus here is on the adults. The youth find church an excellent place to text or play games undisturbed using their mobiles! The middle aged go for the sake of their children in Sunday School; for the senior citizens it is a happy hunting ground for marriage alliances for their offspring. The elderly believe it is good preparation for eternity!

The gospel according to St.Luke talks about a person who was impelled by the Spirit to go to the court of the Lord; his only reason – to see Jesus!
