Much ado about nothing!

Some one must have told Saul’s army the story of how Joshua and the children of Israel conquered Jericho. Here we see them getting ready for battle with a lot of noise. There was a difference though. Whilst Joshua was doing what the Lord had commanded, Saul’s army had no such divine instruction. They were simply shouting to work up bravado!

All of it melted when Goliath stepped out as we read in verse 24. The parallel for our times pops out. We too make a lot of noise sometimes while praying as though there are prizes for the highest decibels.

Is there substance behind our shout?
