Even as you hit the fast lane of life with furious strides that brook no brakes, won’t you pause a moment to grab a grain of scriptural truth embedded herein ? (click on hypertext in the Day’s Reading for reference verse)

No obligations! You are of course perfectly at liberty to skip these Readings altogether. Should that be your choice,  go ahead – save 30 seconds!

Christians, really?

Nation states cannot differentiate between religion and faith. The census form doesn’t ask you what you believe in. It only wants to box you into some religion, whether or not you subscribe to its creed with your whole heart. The external trappings will do. It is Billy Sunday who is quoted as saying that “Going to church doesn’t make you a Christian any more than going to a garage makes you an automobile.”

There is something similar in Paul’s epistle to the Romans that makes us question this whole meaningless debate about conversion from one religion to another.

Do you truly believe yourself to be the child of promise?
