Jabez the hegemonist!
Here is a guy who wasn’t content. He knew that his God was great and that He loves to deal bounteously with His servants. And Jabez wasn’t shy of asking. So he prays the prayer of his life. What faith, what confidence! Jabez is described as an honourable man; and God was pleased to grant all that he requested.
What is your view of God? Do you see Him as a tight fisted miser who grudgingly grants blessings? Or do you recognize Him as an omnipotent sovereign being with a large heart? God of mercy and compassion, someone who loves to see His children prosper in everything?
“Ask, and it shall be given you”!
