Mary pondered
Certainly Mary had much to think about on Christmas day. Angelic visitation, the promise of the impossible, immaculate conception, public opprobrium, skepticism of the betrothed, the long ride to Bethlehem, the wonder of the birth of Jesus, fulfillment of prophesy, the visit of shepherds, her place in the eternal plan of God, the meaning of it all ….oh so, so much to digest!
Pity that most of the time, we only concern ourselves with the holly and the ivy, the Christmas tree, Santa Claus and Rudolf the red-nosed reindeer.
“If anything is excellent or praiseworthy-think about such things”.
