No obligations! You are of course perfectly at liberty to skip these Readings altogether. Should that be your choice,  go ahead – save 30 seconds!

Cast your bread upon waters!

The Kingdom of God is no place for people looking for quick returns. There may be exceptions of course, but generally speaking you have to allow for the normal cycle of growth. You prepare the ground, sow the seed, water it, nurture the plant, weed out the tares, prune the plant as necessary and wait for the harvest in due time.

And some times you may not know the route the Word of God takes. Results are guaranteed but it will take time. This can also be interpreted differently: “don’t stint”. “Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over….”

” Be generous, and someday you will be rewarded”
