Even as you hit the fast lane of life with furious strides that brook no brakes, won’t you pause a moment to grab a grain of scriptural truth embedded herein?

No obligations! You are of course perfectly at liberty to skip these Readings altogether. Should that be your choice, go ahead – save 30 seconds!

God bless

Samuel’s words went out

The caption fairly leaps at us from verse 1 chapter 4 of the first book of Samuel and it could (mis)lead us to the erroneous conclusion that Samuel was pushing his own agenda on Israel. Therefore it is important to set it in context which is found in the last verse of the previous chapter. From where or from whom was Samuel getting his words? From the Lord God Himself. The Lord was giving messages to Samuel and in turn Samuel was preaching these to the people. I wonder if the same could be said of preachers today.

Those who mount pulpits must be extremely careful to ward off the temptation to speak their own words;  some of them tend to be carried away by their own flowery eloquence. There is no license either to add, or subtract.

Do you pass on the Word of God as received? Are you a clear channel of blessing to others?
