Even as you hit the fast lane of life with furious strides that brook no brakes, won’t you pause a moment to grab a grain of scriptural truth embedded herein ? (click on hypertext in the Day’s Reading for reference verse)

No obligations! You are of course perfectly at liberty to skip these Readings altogether. Should that be your choice,  go ahead – save 30 seconds!

No mollycoddling!

God wants His people to be strong. Putting their trust in Him, yes, but battle fit and ready to fight if need be – not weaklings. The Psalmist writes: “He teaches my hands to make war, so that my arms can bend a bow of bronze.” We can see a similar strain of tutelage in the book of Hebrews:” Anyone who lives on milk, being still an infant, is not acquainted with the teaching about righteousness. But solid food is for the mature, who by constant use have trained themselves to distinguish good from evil”.

If you find that there are still some nations left in the land that God has promised you, it is with a good reason. Don’t complain if the Lord hasn’t given you complete victory yet, fight!

Are you trained to wield the sword of the Spirit?
