Gang rape in Gibeah!

Of all the instances of moral turpitude we see in the history of Israel, none comes close to this story of sexual perversion, debauchery and lewdness. The Bible says that when the wicked men of the town surrounded the house clamouring for sex with either gender, the Levite in the story took hold of his concubine and pushed her out the door. The men abused her all night, taking turns raping her until the morning. The ghastly story doesn’t end there.

And when the macabre account came to light and the rest of the Israelites were up in arms against Gibeah of Benjamin, our Levite friend hides a critical piece of information: that it was he who pushed out his concubine.

When the truth is terrible, are you truncating it to your advantage?
