Day 23*: Some still remained

Even as you hit the fast lane of life with furious strides that brook no brakes, won’t you pause a moment to grab a grain of scriptural truth embedded herein?

No obligations! You are of course perfectly at liberty to skip these Readings altogether. Should that be your choice, go ahead – save 30 seconds!

God bless

Some still remained

In the process of securing the promised land as possession for Isreal, Joshua knocked off no fewer than 31 kings and their peoples.  He also destroyed the children of Anak in most of the territories – quite unmindful of the report of the ten spies who were earlier terrified of them; but there is a curious passage that says that some of the Anakites still remained. And therein lay the rub! In possession, but not trouble- free.

Quite often in our spiritual journey as well, we do not fell all the giants. Some of  these  “Anakites”  like  fear, distrust, disobedience, greed, pride, lust, rage and so on, manage to remain, and they are a constant source of vexation; they rob us of the joy of enjoying our possession to the fullest.

Which of these giants have you allowed to remain in your life?
