Even as you hit the fast lane of life with furious strides that brook no brakes, won’t you pause a moment to grab a grain of scriptural truth embedded herein ? (click on hypertext in the Day’s Reading for reference verse)

No obligations! You are of course perfectly at liberty to skip these Readings altogether. Should that be your choice,  go ahead – save 30 seconds!

Enquire, return, come

The problem with many church-goers is that during sermon time they switch off – no, not their mobiles, but their minds! They simply do not want to hear the message the Lord has in store for them. They are content with what is called “worship”, prayer, hymns, scripture reading etc., but when the pastor mounts the pulpit, they go on ‘sleep’ mode. Except for the youngsters who are looking forward to this ‘quiet’ time to message their friends, check forwards, view videos and so on – without disturbance!

It is to such people that the watchman is speaking.* Do you have any expectation from the sermon? Are you minded to listen? Conversely watchman, are you conscious of your duty?

“He who has ears, let him hear”!
