No obligations! You are of course perfectly at liberty to skip these Readings altogether. Should that be your choice,  go ahead – save 30 seconds!

Chip ofF the old block!

Some of us take great pride in our ancestry. Every opportunity is availed to tom-tom to the world the glory of our past. In south Indian Christian wedding receptions, the so called ‘toast master’ will not rest until he has held up every branch of the Family Tree unmindful of the fact that his audience is getting restless for the feast. Harmless, to a point. Sure, it will be wonderful if you could recall great acts of faith on the part of your forefathers, but wedding guests are usually not keen to listen to a complete history!

Yes, the faith of Abraham, the serenity of Isaac, the tenacity of Jacob – are eminently worth emulating. And this is exactly what God is calling His people to do.

“The God of Abra’m, Praise”!
