Look back, think..
This is one lesson that keeps coming over and over again in the Bible: consider, consider your ways, consider your past and so on. Here God is asking Israel to think of days gone by. Yes, history lessons are always important. We need to ponder over the path we traversed to get to where we are, from where we were: how the Lord has provided for us and protected us. That should give us the confidence that even to our old age He will sustain and carry us, as Isaiah prophesies.
Actually, God is promising far more in the referred passage – blessing and honour to Zerubbabel, His servant.
What He promises, He delivers!
