Who needs God?
In communist countries as we know, they do not recognize God. They have no need of Him. They believe they are sufficient unto themselves. This could also happen in countries with other systems of governance, particularly in advanced economies. People in these countries have some knowledge of God. Indeed in the past they worshiped Him as evidenced by old churches and cathedrals still standing as testimonies. But today?
Such seems to be the situation described by Isaiah here. God is available but man has no use for Him. He devises his own way and walks according to his thoughts.
