It is enough, Lord!
It often happens that after a “high” comes a “low”! Men of God are not exempt from this phenomenon as evidenced by this episode in the life of the great prophet Elijah. Fast on the heels of his mighty miracle on the mount of Carmel, our man is curling up around a broom bush, and asks for his life to be taken. Is this right? Is it okay to ask the Lord to call curtains just because you are tired, exhausted, weary, depressed or old?
I think NOT. Your life is in God’s hands and it is up to Him to blow the whistle for the game to end. Until then, you must keep playing and do it well. Stop looking at the clock.
Don’t try to cop out!
