Rebekah said “Yes”!

When God confirms that a particular course of action is ordained by Him, everyone concerned is impressed in his / her heart of this truth. However this can be ascertained only by asking the relevant question. It is no good to declare that the Lord has revealed it to me and bulldoze others saying, “so you’d better fall in line”. Thus it is that though the servant of Abraham is quite convinced that Rebekah is the woman for Isaac, he nevertheless poses the query to her father and brother: ” if not, tell me, so I may know which way to turn”.

The duo readily consented to what the servant of Abraham proposed. Then they added: ” Here is Rebekah; take her and go”. It is notable that the damsel was present throughout this palaver!!

And of course, she said: “yes”!

  1. Pray, who is Rebecca, Judah? I don’t know the Bible well enough! Hence the query! Pardon me for my ignorance. Rgds, Ram Kumar

  2. Not at all. Abraham sends his trusted housekeeper to choose a bride for his son Isaac from among his father’s household. Rebecca answers the call.
