I’ve got BIG plans!

There is a great danger in making plans without reckoning with the Master. Jesus narrated a parable about a guy having a bumper harvest by happenstance – (read, grace of God) but he didn’t recognize it! Puffed up by his performance, he doesn’t pause to ponder but immediately starts making plans. He starts a monologue in the general direction of his soul. “I will tear down my barns and build bigger ones, and there I will store my surplus grain. And I’ll say to myself, “You have plenty of grain laid up for many years. Take life easy; eat, drink and be merry.”’

A..ah! The very next words in the narrative in Luke 10 are ‘But God’. He goes on to say some shocking stuff!

Oh, the folly of leaving God out of the equation!
