A ten percent thanks!

In an age when racial feelings were rampant, it was a Samaritan who decided to go back to Jesus when he noticed that he was cleansed from leprosy. From the way Jesus reacts to this gesture we deduce that nine others who were also cleansed, were Jews. This guy didn’t care about attracting attention as a foreigner. What was uppermost in his mind was heartfelt gratitude. It appears that Jesus would have been happier had all of them come back to thank him. Unfortunately nine of them belied Jesus’s expectation.

Oh, they were doing the bidding of Jesus alright, but they lost an opportunity to gladden His heart. And the Samaritan who came back to worship Jesus and give thanks, received a special word of encouragement from the Master!

Are you quick to acknowledge the Master’s touch?
