Sure, you are Jacob, sure you are – in more than one sense (KJV). Don’t we know you? How cleverly you duped your older brother Esau out of his birthright at a time when he was weak and wearied. How you are always looking for opportunities to get ahead in life – trampling others on the way if need be.
These days you will be called ‘suave’, Jacob, and there is just a hint of ‘deceitfulness’ embedded in its meaning. But you may not know it, Bro.
