Seraiah the silent

This is a rare description (KJV), so rare that it is not found in most Bible versions. Paul writing to the Philippians, says, “Let your gentleness be evident to all”. And our Lord was indeed described as being gentle, but I know of no one else* in the Bible who was characterized as being quiet . This guy, Seraiah, can be a role model for many of us whose voice is usually lifted up!

He was not your average Joe. Seraiah was the personal secretary to king Zedekiah. Prophet Jeremiah gave him an important message concerning Babylon. In that position, Seraiah could have made a song and dance. No, he wasn’t that kind of man.

Are you loud-mouthed?
