Hey, it is nice up here!
Peter lived in the here and now. Impressionable, impulsive, and sometimes idiotic! Here he sees Moses and Elijah talking to Jesus and he gets carried away. I guess he saw this as an answer to his heart’s yearning that Jesus should not taste death.
But we have to come down from the mount of transfiguration. We need to wrestle with the powers of the world.
Ecstasy has to yield to reality!
