Go away, Baldy!

We’ve got to be careful what we say in the name of the Lord. The Bible says that our words are imbued with power when we invoke God. Here, we find the prophet Elisha, seemingly puffed up by the inheritance of double share of Elijah’s spirit, cursing playful children in conniption; the result is tragic.

If only he had turned a deaf ear, seeing they were but children! If only the prophet had not suffered from such a bloated ego that got punctured by the merest taunt! Bethel wouldn’t have mourned the death of 42 children all at once!

“Be careful little mouth, what you speak”
