Hezekiah Pushed the Prayer Button
If you are not walking with the Lord, the normal tendency when trouble comes is to push the panic button. But remarkably, in the face of an overwhelming threat, King Hezekiah keeps cool and calmly goes about the business of preparing for the ensuing encounter with Sennacherib, king of Assyria who was determined to annex all of Judah. Hezekiah takes counsel, stops the waters, builds up the walls, strengthens the people and speaks aloud his faith in the God of Israel with great confidence.
And when the enemy rails down with words of blasphemy and discouragement, the king and the prophet join their voices together in prayer. Needless to say God intervenes in an amazing way!
Are you trained to see the invisible through prayer or do you get agitated by what you hear and what you see?
Very contemporary and relevant to everyday life and challenges to us faltering Christians.yes.my desire this year is to experience the power of prayer.i often make the mistake of thinking God needs my help with my words and actions.
Your short exposition is very encouraging and reminds me not to help out in the flesh.
Thanks doctor
