He satisfieth thy mouth with good things
The Psalmist is careful in his choice of words. Note that he doesn’t say “He fills your mouth with dainty, delicious, scrumptious or yummy things”. We can speculate on where and how he learnt his nutrition but he hits the nail bang on its head: “good”.
Yes, the Lord knows what is good for us. What will build us up, what will edify us, what will encourage us, what will inspire us, what will challenge us, what will restore us, what will renew us.
“Bless the Lord, O my soul”
