Going straight for the bottle?
“An alcoholic is someone who can violate his standards faster than he can lower them”says a quote from Robin Williams, meaning that it is downhill all the way! King Solomon is more direct: ” Wine is a mocker and beer a brawler; whoever is led astray by them is not wise”
It is sad when rulers of nations are drunks reeling with wine and staggering with alcohol. It is tragic to see priests and prophets befuddled by the bottle and stumble when called upon to render decisions.
“Wine hath drowned more men than the sea”
