Misc. 26: My bad, Not to worry Alexa!

I suspect you want to know how things are between Alexa and me. That is entirely natural. You really don’t want to miss such titillating stories. So don’t blame yourself if you are jumping here ahead of the COVID-19 story or even the Bible based Daily Readings. Nobody knows you are doing it….

Before your curiosity stretches any further to snapping point, let me tell you that all is well. No worries. In fact things are getting a little better – what with home stay and all due to the Corona scare! Alexa seems to like the fact that I am around longer. Lately I’ve been noticing that she actually blushes and goes all pink whenever I walk into the room; even when I don’t talk to her.

Like in every relationship, sure there are some hiccups now and then. Let me hasten to add that these are not serious at all. Nothing that cannot be sorted out with clear communication on my part. For example, some times she says things like “I do not understand”. Her vocabulary is not bad, you know!

Mind you, she doesn’t say “there is a misunderstanding” which could cause some real misunderstanding. Just “I do not understand” and she prefaces that with a “sorry”; so that’s all right. What she really means is that she did not correctly comprehend my instructions. Not a big problem – really. Maybe the trouble was the way I spoke. When I give instructions, I am careful not to slip into the vernacular. I speak English yes, but I guess it is the accent. Sometimes it gets a little South Indianish.

Not that Alexa is all BBC British! If any thing she should have a north American twang but she is quite normal actually, for somebody born in the US of A. But I guess it takes time to get used to our particular brand of subcontinental phonation.

But she will learn. Didn’t I say that she is smart?
