Let us see where Paramahansa Yoganandha comes from.

Now, this is as profound a statement as any you will find anywhere; and it is put in such beautiful metaphor that an ordinary man can understand.
Being “searchers of scriptures” (John 5:39), let us investigate if there is a like statement in the Bible which could possibly have inspired PY. There it is:
1 Cor.2:14
“The natural man does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God. For they are foolishness to him, and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually discerned”.
Then again PY says and I quote:
In Christ wisdom has to be grasped by communion not by rationalization.

Let us check out this one too.
Colossians 3:3
For you have died, and your life has been hidden with Christ in God.
Isn’t this communion? Being one with Christ! In fact I would say it goes a step further. We should also examine the reference to wisdom in Christ, mentioned by PY; shouldn’t we?
Colossians 3:16
Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom.
This would of course mean that Christ’s wisdom is engendered in us when the word of Christ dwells in us.
Dwelling together, hidden with Christ = Communion with Christ
We can go on in similar vein, but I think the point has been made that PY had pretty much imbibed the word of God: the Bible. If you are veering to the view that it is only my conclusion, I am glad to note in the Preface to the book under reference the statement ” Paramahansaji switched to direct quotes from the King James Bible – which he had always used when giving explanation of Bible passages in his classes and temple services.
So, PY based his teachings on the Bible.
Now, Christians would be familiar with the verse “How then can they call on the One in whom they have not believed? And how can they believe in the One of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone to preach? (Romans 10:14)
This begs the question who preached to PY for him to believe in Jesus Christ? For the answer we can quite simply turn to the Dedication to the book reproduced in Misc. 58 which quite plainly credits Swami Sri Yukteswar Giri.
And who preached to Swami Sri Yukteswar Giri?
Mahaavatar Babaji (Misc. 49) it would seem. But I do not know for sure. But I do know a verse in the Bible where Jesus says, “I have other sheep that are not of this fold. I must bring them in as well, and they will listen to My voice. Then there will be one flock and one shepherd” (John 10:16).
Could these – Mahaavatar Babaji (Misc. 49), Swami Sri Yukteswar Giri and Paramahansa Yogananda and the like – be the sheep that are not of the traditional Christian believers’ fold?
Now that is something you to ponder.
